Universal First Unit

Anyone else want to help design a universal fist unit for online courses?

Here's what I'm seeing:

• something wiki-based so that many collaborators can be invited and contribute
• something that can be plugged-in to any LMS/CMS or function without one of these at all
• something that introduces students, at all levels, to the skills that they'll need to be successful in any online class

If you're interested in contributing and using something like this, hop on in to this discussion and I'll share out the wiki.

We have an Orientation course for our students. You are welcome to come take a look. It is Blackboard and an introduction to our system but there are components for student success in an online course as well.

Attached is our Online Student Guide we distribute to students, in addition to an orientation course in eCollege. This document could use some improvement, but I thought it might add to the discussion. When the Wiki gets going, I will add value where I can.
